Summary
Blotti is provided by Alvis Kalarikkan (“we”, “us”, or “our”). Blotti processes captured frames and recognised text locally on your Mac to produce a protected screen-sharing preview. Version 1 does not operate a capture-content or account backend and does not include usage analytics, advertising, cross-app tracking, or remote crash reporting.
We do not intentionally receive captured frames, OCR text, detected sensitive values, custom regex rules or tester text, application titles, or window titles.
Screen capture and local processing
Blotti accesses macOS Screen Recording permission after you explicitly load the list of available sources and while you run protected capture. Apple ScreenCaptureKit provides frames, and Apple Vision performs optical character recognition on your Mac. Blotti applies the selected policy and renders a separate protected preview.
Captured frames, recognised text, and detected values are held temporarily in application memory for processing. Blotti does not intentionally save them to disk, upload them, transmit them, or log them. A most recent successfully protected image may remain in memory while the app is running so the preview can remain fail-closed if processing stops.
Your meeting or screen-sharing service is independent of Blotti. When you share the protected preview, that provider processes the resulting video under its own policy. We do not control that service or what its participants do with shared content.
Information stored on your Mac
Blotti stores a small set of preferences locally in its macOS app container. These may include:
- Whether first-use guidance has been dismissed.
- Whether strict protection mode is selected.
- Whether system-notification protection is enabled.
- Stable bundle identifiers for applications selected for blocking.
- Custom regex hider names, patterns, case-sensitivity setting, and enabled state.
Individual blocked-window identifiers are ephemeral and are not persisted between app launches. Blotti does not intentionally store application or window titles as preferences. Text entered in the custom-regex tester is evaluated on the Mac and is not saved with a rule or retained as a preference. Because a regex can include literal text, avoid placing real secrets or personal information in a rule when a generalised pattern will work. Removing Blotti and its app container removes remaining local preferences, subject to normal macOS and backup behaviour.
Subscriptions and purchases
Apple administers Blotti Pro purchases, trials, renewals, billing, and refund requests through the Mac App Store. Blotti uses StoreKit to load localised product information and verify on-device whether the Apple Account has a valid Pro entitlement.
We do not operate a version 1 billing server, receive payment-card details, or create a Blotti customer account. Apple handles App Store and transaction information under its own privacy policy. Purchases can be restored in Blotti, and subscriptions can be managed or cancelled using Apple’s subscription service.
Information we collect
Blotti version 1 does not collect usage analytics or include remote crash reporting. The app does not send captured frames, recognised text, detected values, custom regex rules or tester text, application names, window titles, source identifiers, payment details, framework errors, or free-form text to Blotti. This website also has no analytics, advertising cookies, or account forms.
Support correspondence
If you contact us, we receive the information you choose to send, such as your email address, message, and attachments. Do not send raw screen captures, secrets, credentials, or other sensitive content unless a secure, explicitly agreed support process requires it. Support correspondence is retained only as long as reasonably necessary to respond, meet legal obligations, and protect Blotti and its users.
Permissions, retention, and disclosure
Screen Recording permission is accessed after you explicitly load available sources and while protected capture runs. You can revoke it in System Settings. Because the app does not transmit capture content, custom regex rules or tester text, or other preferences to us, we do not retain or disclose that information on our servers. Apple, meeting providers, email providers, and other services you choose use their own retention and disclosure practices.
Your choices and rights
You can stop capture, revoke Screen Recording permission, change or clear local protection settings including custom regex hiders, manage your Apple subscription, or remove the app and its container data. Because version 1 does not receive app data on our systems, we generally cannot retrieve, correct, export, or delete captured content or local preferences.

Children’s privacy
Blotti is a professional utility and is not directed to children. It does not knowingly collect data from children through Blotti systems. Apple Account, App Store, and family controls are governed by Apple.
Policy changes
We may update this policy when features, data practices, legal requirements, or providers change. A material data-flow change, including a backend, analytics, remote crash reporting, team accounts, or cloud policy sync, requires privacy and security review before release.
